A family budget app for everyone in the household

Up to six people on their own phones, one shared budget, and private accounts that stay private.

In many households one person keeps the budget and everybody else hands over receipts, or forgets to. That breaks as soon as a partner, an older child or a grandparent spends from the household money too. A family budget works better when each person records their own spending on their own phone and everyone sees the same numbers. Lumy's family group is built for that: up to six members, shared budgets, and private accounts where they are needed.

How it works in Lumy

  1. 1

    Create the family group

Invite members with a code. Each person joins from their own iPhone or Android phone with their own login.

  2. 2

    Share the household budgets

Groceries, utilities, school costs and savings goals live in shared budgets and a shared dashboard.

  3. 3

Let everyone record their own spending

Each member adds expenses by typing, voice or a receipt scan. Transactions can be filtered by member, so nobody has to reconstruct who spent what.

  4. 4

    Plan the shop together

Shopping lists belong to the family group, so everyone edits the same list and sees changes as they happen.

Built for daily life

Manage finances together

Create a family group and invite members with a code. Share budgets and the dashboard, or keep private accounts only you can see.

Log it in seconds

Add a transaction with a category, amount, and note. Income or expense — Lumy keeps the record straight. Search, filter by date, or browse by family member.

Works with or without a connection

Lumy stores your data locally on device. Log transactions anywhere — everything syncs to the cloud when you're back online.

Is this the right setup for you?

A good fit if

  • More than one person spends from the household budget.
  • Your family uses a mix of iPhone and Android phones.
  • Some spending should stay private, even inside the family.

Probably not for you if

  • You need more than six members in one group.
  • You want spending imported automatically from everyone's bank accounts.

How it compares with the usual alternatives

One person keeps the budget

Simple until that person is busy. Receipts pile up, and everyone else sees the numbers only when they ask.

Bank-connected family apps

Automatic, but every adult usually links accounts, and cash or a teenager's spending stays invisible.

Debit-card apps for children

Built to give children a card and pocket-money controls. They do not plan the household budget itself.

Questions people ask

How many people can share one budget?

A family group can have up to six members. Family sharing is a Pro feature.

Does everyone need their own account?

Yes. Each member joins the group from their own phone, which is what lets spending be filtered by member and private accounts stay private.

Can some accounts stay private?

Yes. Members can keep private accounts that only they can see, while shared budgets and the dashboard stay visible to the group.

Does it work with iPhone and Android together?

Yes. Lumy is available on both platforms, and the family group works across them.

Do we need to connect a bank?

No. Lumy has no bank connection. Expenses are added by typing, chat, voice or a receipt scan.
